Show and Tell
I was going to write about how much more I appreciate my husband today. Because when he drives down the street and sees some scantily dressed jailbait sauntering along, he might look, but he doesn't suddenly cut his speed in half like the idiot driving the Infiniti compensating-for-something-mobile that I was following today.
And then, I was going to write about the cool cloud I saw before the storm the other day. But there wasn't much to tell, so I'll just post the picture.
Instead, I'll tell you about our twins...
No, you won't be seeing an ultrasound picture...
We have a set of coyote babies living in the stand of trees in our back yard. I find this very unusual, because I think of this as a suburban area. There are plenty of farms around us still, but the area is mostly subdivisions. I also think of coyotes as being more of a mountain or desert dwelling animal. I've recently seen the adult coyote roaming about the neighborhood when I'm walking in the mornings, and the other day, these two guys showed up to hang out under our tree. My husband wants to tame one and make it a pet.
Aren't they cute? I just hope they don't leave rabbit carcasses laying around. Or poop on the deck again.
Check out what everyone else is showing today. Go visit Mel!

I like your wild animals better than mine. I have a neighborhood full of bunnies that eat my fracking garden and opossums.
ReplyDeleteCoyotes! Wow! I would be so freaked out, I don't think I would ever go outside.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm a total wuss. And I grew up in the Midwest, I don't think we have coyotes there. Or do we? Yeah, total wuss.
Wow, they are cute. Hope the stay off the deck!
ReplyDeleteCoyotes are cute until the raccoon and rabbit parts start showing up on the back porch. I'm glad your hubby appreciates you!!
ReplyDeleteI also think that wild animals are cute, as long as they stay far, far away!
ReplyDeleteAww, they are cute!
ReplyDeleteI only ever saw coyotes in person once, when I lived on a farm. They wandered through our yard and back into the woods. Very interesting creatures.
We have raccoons that go through the trash. And deer. And all kinds of birds. Oh, and turtles lay eggs in the yard! And alligators! Anyway the coyotes are cute. :)
ReplyDeleteCool! We've had bears lately. BEARS! And we're not even really in the mountains. We're close-ish, in the foothills of the Appalachians, but not three miles from our house there was a bear that ended up being shot by a police woman (the details are fuzzy as to why it was shot, but the police department, of course, assures us that it was necessary...).
ReplyDeleteMy response to guys like Infinity-driver-dude, is to shout, "Sorry about your pe.nis!!!" before pulling off. That generally gets the point across...
Awwww!!! I have bunnies all over our yard, I still get excited like a little kid when I see them.
ReplyDeleteWe had baby foxes at the Cape a couple of years ago and we did freak out, only to be told by the rangers that they really aren't anything to be worried about and just to 'keep on enjoying ourselves'.
ReplyDeleteTaming them never crossed our minds..but hey, might work.
killing me with adorability factor here!
ReplyDeleteCoyotes are urban animals. Normally you won't see them as they are nocturnal. As a small dog owner, I wouldn't want one in my yard!
ReplyDeleteI love your twins! The are cute AND they don't keep you up at night.
ReplyDeleteI hope.
Ahh they are too cute!! And a very cool picture of the sky :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the picture of the sky...oh and the cute little Wiley Cyotes!! :)

#7 Baby Making Journey
I would have SUCH hard time going up to them and playing with them! They are so sweet and adorable, albeit WILD with TEETH!
ReplyDeleteThe photo of the cloud is SO beautiful, too!
The cloud pic is cool. The coyotes are adorable!!! Just don't get too close...
ReplyDeleteOMG coyote babies! I'm so jealous.
ReplyDeleteWOW. That is awesome. Living in the ghetto (like I do), I have things like dead bodies in the alley behind my house. I'd much rather have coyotes.
ReplyDeleteHow cute are THEY? I'd want to leave them food. Frank would want to strangle me. :)
ReplyDeleteWe had a fox run through our cul de sac once. Wild animals seem so out of place in the suburbs, but it is a nice treat.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is so so cool. I don't even think I knew what a coyote looked like, before I saw that pic. Except, of course, Wile. E.
ReplyDeleteI seriously love that cloud pic.
I heard that attempts to curb the population have actually extended their territory (like more than doubled or tripled it). Among other things....in most packs only the alpha male reproduces...but when he is killed many of the lower dogs in the pack will start to reproduce.
ReplyDeleteAlso, life in suburban and even urban areas is much easier for them...easy access food (trash and domestic cats).
They are really cute. I don't know if I've ever seen a coyote up close like that.
